Goldenrod contains saponins. These compounds form a soapy foam when shaken in water. On could say they combine air with water. It is this property of saponins, among other things, that gives goldenrod its healing quality. In the human body air and water mix in the lungs, blood, glands, skin and kidneys. Goldenrod has a harmonising action in all these areas.
The plant also has antifungal action and supports skin prone to excessive sweat production. For Dr.Hauschka Rosemary Foot Balm WALA prepares its own extract of goldenrod using a special rhythmic process.
Goldenrod is an ingredient of WALA Aesculus/Prunus comp., essence, which is beneficial in the treatment of bedsores, varicose veins and heavy legs; and is contained in WALA Juniperus/Berberis comp., capsules, which are used to stimulate renal activity where urinary elimination is poor, in cases of kidney stones and gout, for example.
