WALA & the German environmental association NABU

In 2008 and 2009, WALA lent its support to the NABU campaign “Sag mir, wo die Blumen sind ...”, the German translation of “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?”.In 2008 friends of nature were asked to use the Internet to select the flower that they most missed seeing in the countryside. Way out in the lead, with 755 votes, was the field larkspur. In 2009 NABU organised a photo competition on the theme of “Wild Flowers” in which more than 1,000 photographers took part. Ralf Kunert, head of Raw Materials Purchase at WALA, was on the jury and chose the winner of the competition, together with Katja Ebstein.

With this latest campaign, “Where have all the flowers gone?”, and with as much support as possible from the general public, NABU wants to exert increased political pressure.

Further information on the campaign and the results of the online vote can be found at www.sagmirwodieblumensind.de (German only).
