WALA & the oikos Winter School
WALA has been sponsoring the oikos Winter School at Witten/Herdecke University since 2009. The event is a not-for-profit project organised annually by a student team (known as a chapter) belonging to the student organisation oikos International. With 31 chapters in 19 countries, oikos has been providing an international platform since 1987 for students who wish to become actively involved in sustainable global development. In the oikos Winter School 25 highly motivated students from around the world come together to discuss fundamental problems relating to global economics and management, based on current innovative approaches. In a week full of inspirational workshops, intensive debate and intercultural exchange, participants gain knowledge and skills that will enable them to act as circulators and change agents for sustainable economic development.
