In collaboration with the Vitra Design Museum the Wolfsburg Art Museum designed the dual exhibition “Rudolf Steiner and Contemporary Art” and “Rudolf Steiner – the Alchemy of Everyday”. This is the world’s first comprehensive retrospective of Steiner's work outside the anthroposophic context. WALA is pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor the exhibition.
The major two-part project “Rudolf Steiner and Contemporary Art” and “Rudolf Steiner – the Alchemy of Everyday” picks up on a phenomenon that has not until now enjoyed much attention, but represents one of the most exciting chapters in the history of ideas – the influence of Rudolf Steiner’s impulses on very diverse areas of society. Major artists have repeatedly explored the universal world of ideas of Rudolf Steiner, and the first part of the exhibition, “Rudolf Steiner and Contemporary Art”, presents the results of this exploration. The second part of the exhibition, “Rudolf Steiner – the Alchemy of Everyday”, deals with Steiner’s influence on the architecture, design, art and society of the 20th century.
The dual exhibition will be on view at the Stuttgart Museum of Art from 5 February to 22 May 2011. For more information visit www.kunstmuseum-stuttgart.de.
The Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein will be showing the exhibition from September 2011 to March 2012. For more information visit www.design-museum.de.
