In the case of diarrhoea and gastrointestinal complaints, Bolus alba comp. Pulver (Bolus alba comp. powder)*. powder is an excellent remedy. This powder, which is stirred into a liquid and drunk, contains not only bitters such as gentian and calamus but also the calming essential oils of aniseed (Pimpinella anisum) and caraway (Carum carvi), which help to ease cramps and counter flatulence. Birch tar from Silver birch (Betula pendula) also helps to counter flatulence and reduce inflammatory processes, notably in the stomach. White clay (Kaolinum ponderosum) absorbs harmful substances such as excessive gastric acids or bacterial toxins and thickens stools in the case of diarrhoea.
