Definition

Anthroposophical medicine sees itself as an extension of orthodox medicine, that is conventional scientific medicine with the added dimension of spiritual science. Its conceptions of health, illness and healing are based on the physical laws of the natural sciences but take into account equally the laws of life, the soul and the spirit and their interrelationships.

Methods

Anthroposophical medicine uses the methods of natural science and of spiritual science. The experience of natural medicine, physiotherapy, phytotherapy, homeopathy, psychotherapy and artistic therapies thereby acquires a rational foundation based on the anthroposophical view of the human being and nature.
